    Está considerada como una cefalea secundaria según la International Classification of the Headache Disease (ICHD-2) de 2006. (ver Tabla 2).

    Se trata de una cefalea presente más de 15 días al mes en los últimos tres meses y que aparece o empeora con la ingesta de determinados fármacos generalmente utilizados para el tratamiento de las cefaleas primarias.
